Adulting is an exhausting, full-time performance. Every single day requires pretending I know exactly what I am doing, when in reality, I am just making it up as I go. We wear the mask of maturity, pay the bills, nod politely in meetings, and schedule our own doctor appointments, all while secretly wishing someone else would just take charge.
It turns out that being a "mature adult" is mostly just managing constant fatigue and resisting the urge to throw a temper tantrum in the middle of the grocery store. If you are tired of holding it all together, you are not alone.
